The defending district champion and section runner-up Brookfield Lady ‘Dogs outlasted Trenton on the links at Riverside Country Club on Tuesday afternoon, as the “Blue Bulldogs” claimed a tightly-fought win 198 to 205.  Brookfield had the top two scores from the course, as medalist Mallory Gonzalez shot 43, with Julia Weydert carding a 45.  Trenton’s top score, a 46, came from Werthen Gass.  Gass had a great chance to earn medalist honors, but struggled to a 10 on the ninth hole, while Weydert birdied that hole for Brookfield, and Gonzalez hit a 5-shot par.

Trenton generally, as a team, was slightly more consistent than Brookfield, but the visitors exemplary work from the top of the roster was the difference in the seven-stroke victory.  Joining the score of 46 from Trenton’s Gass were Hannah Kennebeck at 49, while Kaitlyn Mounce, Lana Raymo, and Jordain Oshel all shot 55.

Additional scores for Brookfield were 47 from Emily Vogel, followed by a dropoff to a pair of 63’s from Sarah Bloss and Hannah Matheney.

Trenton JV scores were Maci Henson with 54 and Oakley Madden at 67.  The top JV score of the day was from Brookfield’s Laken Sattman, at 51.  Quinsey Lane shot 66 and Faythe Salmon shot 72 for the BHS junior varsity.

Trenton joins Putnam County in playing at Chillicothe at 4 o’clock this (Wednesday) afternoon.  The Lady Bulldogs will host Putnam County on Thursday afternoon at 4 o’clock at Riverside Country Club.
