The Trenton Bulldogs and Chillicothe Hornets struggled to keep runs off the board on Monday night, falling to the Cameron Dragons and Macon Tigers in separate games played on the baseball diamond.

Cameron fell behind 3-1 after one inning at Burleigh Grimes Field in Trenton, with the Bulldogs sending Brice Gibler, Kael Brock, and Payden McCullough across the plate, with B. Scheckengaust cracking a two-run single for THS.

However, the ceiling fell in on the home team in the second inning, as the Dragons scored 25 runs.  The game ended with a 26-3 final score in three innings.

Kael Brock made the start for Trenton and got through the first inning only giving up one run, but was unable to get out of the second inning, ending up giving up six runs on three hits, striking out the side in the first inning.  Three relievers (McCullough, Wiggins, and Schreckengaust) each went 1/3 of an inning in the 2nd, with Brice Gibler striking out two batters in a scoreless top of the third, scattering one hit.

In Chillicothe, the Hornets lost to Macon, 12-1.  The Tigers amassed nine hits in the road victory, putting the contest out of reach with two runs in the top of the 3rd inning, and five more in the fourth.  Macon’s two pitchers combined to strike out 13 Chillicothe batters.
