The University of Missouri will be getting back a piece of the 2022-2023 NCAA Tournament squad, as starting power forward Noah Carter will return to the Tigers for his last year of eligibility next season.

Carter transferred from Northern Iowa a season ago following three seasons with the Panthers, and went on to start 20 games for Missouri, with the Dubuque native averaging 9.6 points per game, including a season-high 28 against Pennsylvania on November 11th.  He scored in double figures seven times over MU’s final eight games, including 10 points in the Tigers NCAA victory over Utah State, and 14 points in the season-ending loss to Princeton.

Missouri will be losing reserve forward Ronnie DeGray III and center Mohamed Diarra to transfer this offseason.  The Tigers continue to scour the transfer portal while awaiting announcements from Kobe Brown, Isiaih Mosley, Nick Honor, and Sean East II as to whether or not they will return to Mizzou next season.

An incoming guard from John A. Logan College (IL), Curt Lewis, has been named NJCAA Division I men’s basketball player of the year after leading his team to the national championship last month in Hutchison, Kansas.  Lewis averaged 14.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game for John A. Logan this season, connecting on over 48% of his three-point attempts.

He scored a season-high 27 points in the Volunteers semifinal victory over Tallahassee CC, following up that performance with 18 points in the national championship game triumph over Northwest Florida State.  JUCORecruiting.com ranks Lewis as the #3 ranked JUCO player in the country.  He will be one of six newcomers for Missouri next season, along with Colorado State transfer guard John Tonje, and high school recruits Trent Pierce, Jordan Butler, Anthony Robinson II, and preferred walk-on JV Brown.
