Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman B.J. Thompson is in stable condition at the hospital, after the 2023 fifth-round draft pick suffered a seizure and cardiac arrest during a special teams meeting on Thursday morning, according to NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero.
An ambulance was quickly called to the team’s facility outside Arrowhead Stadium, with the team’s medical staff rendering aid prior to the ambulance’s arrival. The Chiefs OTA session, scheduled for Thursday, was canceled in the wake of the medical emergency that occurred. A media availability with head coach Andy Reid and selected players was postponed until Friday.
B.J. Thompson played in just one game in his rookie season for the Super Bowl Champion Chiefs, after competing his collegiate career in 2022 at Stephen F. Austin University in Texas.
