COLUMBIA, Mo. – Trenton native McKinley Hurley is officially a member of the Cougars softball program at Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri. The transfer from North Central Missouri College will arrive on campus this fall with two years of eligibility for head softball coach Wendy Spratt.

The standout for the last six seasons with the Lady Pirates, and before then, the Class 2 state-power Trenton Lady Bulldogs, Hurley has dominated on the collegiate level, with a batting average of .470 over two seasons at NCMC, while stealing 77 bases in 79 attempts.  The .470 batting average (and .509 on-base percentage) is an all-time record at North Central Missouri College.  Hurley did “double duty” at NCMC, playing a critical role as a starting guard for Jenni Croy’s Lady Pirate basketball team.

While at Trenton High School (2011-2015), Hurley was a first-team all-state selection in softball and track and field, while earning first-team all-district honors in basketball.  At THS, Hurley owns the Lady Bulldog record for most hits in a season, in addition to top all-time career batting average.

Coach Spratt expressed her excitement with the addition of Hurley, saying, “We are excited to add McKinley to the Cougar line-up for this season.” Said Spratt. “She is an extremely fast utility player that makes things happen on both offense and defense.”
