Gallatin Bulldogs repeat as state golf champions, Simmons ties for 4th

The Gallatin Bulldogs won a tiebreaker with Greenwood to claim their second consecutive Class 1 state golf championship on Tuesday afternoon, shooting 677 over the two-day event in Bolivar.

Lincoln High School finished third (683) with Marceline in fourth place, shooting 701.  Other schools in the events were Westran, Salisbury, Bloomfield, Windsor, and Stover.

Logan Smith of LaPlata won the individual state championship with a two-day score of 150.  Gannon Withers of New Bloomfield was second (153) and Max Floyd of Barat Academy (154) in third place.

Gallatin’s Jett Simmons tied Bloomfield’s Peyton Bell for fourth place, both scoring 156.
