The Gilman City softball team opened the 2018 season in late August, with a high-scoring, extra-inning one-run loss to Pattonsburg giving Coach Holly Preston and the Ladyhawks encouragement, with a victory over Grundy R-5 two days later (8/30) giving the team confidence. One worrisome trend through the games was Gilman City’s habit of struggling to keep runs off the board in the late innings.
A strong test from the HDC’s powerhouse program out of North Harrison loomed for Gilman City on Tuesday, September 4th, the very same evening that the interview with Coach Holly Preston aired on KTTN FM 92.3.
