Three members of the Class 2 runner-up Trenton Lady Bulldog softball team have signed letters of intent to “stay at home” and play for the North Central Missouri College Lady Pirates, starting in the 2019-2020 season.

On Monday morning, NCMC Coach Steve Richman earned the signed commitments of catcher Salem Croy, first baseman Sidney Lynch, and outfielder Taylor Richman to the Lady Pirate program, giving North Central an immediate infusion of both talent and local interest, with Trenton’s program having enjoyed great fan support, with THS, under the leadership of Kris Ockenfels, Steve Richman, and John Cowling,  establishing itself as one of the best in northwest Missouri over the past 15 years.

Croy, the daughter of Trenton High School Athletic Director Wes Croy and NCMC Lady Pirate basketball coach Jenni Croy, admitted that the natural fit that the Lady Pirates presented her played a huge factor in her decision:

Lynch was a stalwart defensively at first base for the Lady Bulldogs, while adding strength for Trenton in the #6 hole in the batting order.  While indicating that staying home was motivation to sign at NCMC, she added that a well-known academic program at North Central played a factor for her:

In high school, Taylor Richman hit adversity by way of injury early in her junior season, breaking her leg in a practice accident.  After missing the remainder of softball season and all of basketball season in 2017-2018, the Trenton senior played strong and confident in left field for this year’s Lady Bulldog softball team.  Taylor’s decision to play for NCMC also means that she will play for her father, Coach Steve Richman:

In other recruiting news involving Trenton’s senior class, Lady Bulldog softball and basketball standout Ainsley Tolson has given a verbal commitment to play for the basketball program at William Jewell College in Liberty.  Tolson’s signing will occur at 8 o’clock in the morning on Monday, December 17th in the Trenton High School commons.
