Lexington, Chillicothe claim straight-set volleyball wins, Trenton hosts LeBlond tonight

The Trenton Lady Bulldogs struggled in a Monday night volleyball trip to Lexington High School to take on the Minutewomen, falling in straight sets to the MRVC East champions, 25-16, 25-8.  No individual stats on the match are available as of publish time.  Trenton, coming off a third-place finish in Saturday’s Carrollton Tournament, returns home to face the Golden Eagles of Bishop LeBlond, tonight (Tuesday night), with the freshman match at 5, JV match at 6, and varsity match at 7.

The Trenton JV lost in three sets to Lexington, 23-25, 25-16, 25-17, while Trenton’s freshmen lost to LHS 25-19, 25-12.

The Trenton Middle School volleyball team had the “B” squad lose in straight sets to visiting South Harrison on Monday night, 25-18, 25-19. Sarah Washburn led TMS with 4 aces.

The TMS “A” team split its match, losing the first set 25-15, but rebounding for a 25-22 triumph in set #2.  Maci Lynch led Trenton with four aces and one kill.  The TMS teams finish the volleyball season on Thursday night in Kirksville.

Elsewhere on the volleyball court Monday night, it was a battle of Hornets, with Chillicothe routing Hamilton by a score of 25-6, 25-9.  Elli Ross led Chillicothe with 20 points off serve, along with 15 assists.  It was Senior Night at Chillicothe High School for the victorious Lady Hornets.
