Mercer teams earn top-seeds for District 14 tournament at Eagleville

North Harrison High School in Eagleville will host the Class 1, District 14 tournament, starting on Monday night, February 20th, with the Mercer girls and boys owning the #1 seeds in the eight-team fields.

Like both other district tournaments across the region, the girls games and boys games will be separated by 24 hours, with boys playing on February 20th, 22nd, and 24th, while the girls play on February 21st, 23rd, and 25th.

Action from North Harrison starts on Monday with the #10 ranked Mercer boys taking on the GRC West’s Albany Warriors at 4:30.  The 4 vs. 5 match between the North Harrison Shamrocks and Newtown-Harris Tigers follows at 5:45.  At 7 o’clock, the tournament’s #2 seed, the Worth County Tigers, take on Gilman City, before Pattonsburg and East Harrison duel at 8:15.

Boys semifinals will be played on Wednesday, February 22nd at 6 o’clock and 7:30, with the district championship game set for Friday night, February 24th at 6:30.

The #1 ranked Mercer Lady Cardinals will open postseason play against HDC rival Newtown-Harris on Tuesday, February 21st at 4:30 (at Eagleville). Other quarterfinals on that evening will be Pattonsburg against Gilman City at 5:45, North Harrison (#2 seed) hosting Albany at 8:15, and the #3 seed Worth County Lady Tigers drawing East Harrison at 7 o’clock.

Girls semifinals will be 6 o’clock and 7:30 on Thursday, February 23rd, with the district championship game on Saturday, February 25th at 6:30 in the evening.
