Milan boys earn #5 seed for District 7 tournament at Salisbury

The Milan girls have a #8 seed, with the Wildcat boys seeded fifth, for next week’s Class 2, District 7 tournament at Salisbury High School.  Like other tournaments across the region, the girl’s and boy’s will play their first and second-round games on opposite nights, with the girls quarterfinals on Monday, February 20th and the boys starting on Tuesday, February 21st.  The Westran Lady Hornets and Salisbury Panthers have the #1 seeds.

Westran, the top girls seed, will open play at 4:30 on Monday afternoon, taking on Nathan Simler’s Milan Lady Wildcats.  That game will be followed by the 4 vs 5 girls matchup, with the #5 seed Putnam County Lady Midgets against Salisbury at 6.  The #2 seed Northeast of Cairo takes on LaPlata at 7:30, followed by the #3 seed Schuyler County Lady Rams battling Marceline at 9 o’clock.

Girls semifinals will be Wednesday, February 22nd at 6 o’clock and 7:30, with the District 7 girls title game on 5 o’clock on Saturday night, February 25th.

The boys quarterfinals open with #1 seed Salisbury hosting Westran at 4:30 on Tuesday.  The Milan Wildcats take on the #4 seed LaPlata Bulldogs at 6 o’clock.  Marceline, the #2 seed, takes on Northeast at 7:30, followed by the Putnam County Midgets, owners of the #3 seed, drawing Schuyler County at 9 o’clock.
