Milan High School senior running back Dominic Dabney will join big brother Ryan on the Truman State University football roster in 2021, with the younger Dabney signing a letter of intent with the Bulldogs and head coach Gregg Nesbitt on Wednesday morning.  Dabney, in his senior season for the Wildcats, rushed for 1,872 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2020.  Another area talent inking with TSU is Kirksville senior wide receiver Noah Copeland.

In Maryville, Northwest Missouri State’s football program welcomed 29 student-athletes into the Bearcat football program, including Platte County quarterback Chris Ruhnke and offensive lineman Trey Butcher, along with Maryville senior defensive lineman Marc Gustafson.

At the University of Missouri, head coach Eli Drinkwitz completed his first full recruiting class with the addition of 25 players to the Tigers roster, including six high school products from St. Louis making the move west to Columbia.

Among highlights for MU was the transfer of former Trinity Catholic wide receiver Mookie Cooper from Ohio State back home to Missouri, after just one season with the Buckeyes.  Mizzou signed three-star running back B.J. Harris of Chattanooga, Tennessee, the highest rated running back in the state who chose the Tigers over Kentucky, Tennessee, and Ole Miss.

Graduate transfer Blaze Alldredge officially became a Tiger after the linebacker’s transfer from Rice University after three stalwart seasons with the Owls.

The highest ranked JUCO transfer picked up by Mizzou was that of J.D. Perkins, a cornerback from Mississippi Gulf Coast.  He was rated the #3 JUCO player in the country by ESPN and chose Drinkwitz and the Tigers from an offer list that included Alabama, Mississippi State, and Texas A&M.

ESPN ranked Alabama’s class as the tops in the country, with the Crimson Tide signing a group that includes three five-stars and 13 prospects in the Top 100.  Texas A&M’s class, highlighted by the late signing of star running back L.J. Johnson, is #6.  Omaha native Avante Dickerson picked Oregon, moving the Ducks overall ranking to #5.  LSU sits at #7 with USC at #8.
