Mississippi basketball adds four-star guard Ruffin

NCAA

The Ole Miss Rebels basketball program has received a verbal commitment from four-star guard Daeshun Ruffin, a 5’9″ senior from Callaway High School in Jackson, Missisippi.  Ruffin chose the Oxford school over offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, and Mississippi State.

An original commit to Bruce Pearl’s Auburn Tigers last summer, Ruffin moved back from that pledge shortly afterwards, eventually taking a mid-October visit to Ole Miss, with that visit, according to recruiting websites, pushing the Rebels into the lead.

In his junior season, Ruffin scored 26.8 points per game, and connected on 50 percent of his field goals, including 37 percent from three-point range.  He is ranked as the #4 point guard, and #37 athlete overall, in the Class of 2021 by 247Sports.
