The University of Missouri men’s basketball program has officially announced the additions of junior college transfer Mohamed Diarra and Milwaukee transfer DeAndre Gholston to the Tiger roster for 2022-2023.

Diarra, a native of Paris, France, will head to Columbia after spending the last two seasons at Garden City Community College, where he established himself as one of the best interior players in the country, averaging 17.8 points and 12.6 rebounds per game in the 2021-2022 season, with that rebounding average leading the NJCAA, and the scoring average putting him 7th in Jayhawk Community College Conference.   Amassing 71 blocks in 30 games, Diarra earned KJCAA Co-Defensive Player of the Year honors.  Diarra will have three remaining years of eligibility beginning this fall at Mizzou.

Gholston will have just one year of eligibility with the Tigers, arriving in mid-Missouri after spending the past two years with the University of Milwaukee Panthers, where new Mizzou coach Dennis Gates had a front-row seat to see the newest Tiger in action, as Cleveland State and Milwaukee are Horizon League rivals.

Gholston averaged 14.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game during the 2021-2022 season.  Coach Gates describes Gholston as “a big guard who has a natural ability to score the ball”.
