The University of Missouri Department of Athletics is planning a four-city caravan across the “Show-Me State” in May, with trips to Springfield, Kansas City, St. Louis, and Mendon.  First-year Athletic Director Jim Sterk is expected to be in attendance at all four locations, in addition to football coach Barry Odom.

The annual visit to Mendon will send the Tiger Caravan to Northwestern High School on Wednesday night, May 17th, for a 6 o’clock event. A plated dinner program, including a pork chop with the main course, is on the menu.  Sterk and Odom will represent Mizzou, along with women’s basketball coach Robin Pingeton.  New men’s basketball coach Cuonzo Martin is also mentioned to be in Mendon, although MU calls Martin’s appearance “tentative”.

The four caravans will be hosted by Mizzou’s Tiger Scholarship Fund.  Itineraries for the events will be distributed to TSF members closer to the date of the events.  For more information, contact the Tiger Scholarship Fund office (573-882-0704) or visit www.tsfmizzou.com.

The first caravan stop is planned for Hammons Field in Springfield, for “Mizzou Night” with the Springfield Cardinals on Friday, May 5th.  On Thursday, May 18th, the “Rooftop at Chicken N Pickle” hosts the Tiger Caravan visit to Kansas City at 6 o’clock, with “Mainstage at Ballpark Village”, at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, hosting the MU Caravan at 6 o’clock on Friday night, May 19th, immediately preceding the Cardinals game that night with the San Francisco Giants.
