The University of Missouri women’s basketball program and head coach Robin Pingeton have added Batesville, Arkansas point guard Izzy Higginbottom to the program’s 2021 recruiting class.  The verbal commitment adds to the Tigers potential resurgence, coming off a season that saw MU finish 9-22 overall, 11th place in the Southeastern Conference, after the graduation of all-time leading scorer Sophie Cunningham.

Higginbottom is ranked by ESPN as the #13 point guard and #57 player nationally in the Class of 2021, a four-star prospect.  Batesville won an Arkansas state title in 2019, with Higginbottom earning MVP honors from the state tournament.

Missouri, earlier in the 2021 recruiting cycle, received a commitment from Tucson, Arizona’s Kiya Dorroh, a five-star prospect.

Jefferson City High School’s Sarah Linthacum, the younger sister of Mizzou redshirt freshman Micah Linthacum, has verbally committed to the Tigers for 2021, while Auburn University freshman Lauren Hansen has announced her transfer to MU, leaving her ineligible to play in 2020-2021, but eligible for Coach Pingeton for the following three seasons.
