Mizzou women own state bragging rights, beating MSU Lady Bears

In Robin Pingeton’s time at the University of Missouri, the best women’s Division One program in the state has shifted.  What once was unquestionably the Missouri State Lady Bears program has been surpassed by Pingeton’s up-and-coming Southeastern Conference squad, with the Tiger surge punctuated on Friday night with a 73-49 win over MSU at Mizzou Arena.

All-SEC sophomore Sophie Cunningham led MU with 22 points, seven rebounds, and six assists, with redshirt senior Lindsey Cunningham adding 13 points and a season-high three steals.

Mercer native Sierra Michaelis played well for the Tigers, with the senior putting in 15 points while sophomore Cierra Porter scored 13.  Porter has not scored in double figures in all eight Mizzou games this season.
