Moore, Whitaker named All-District for THS girls

The Class 3, District 14 All-District teams have been announced, with two members of the district champion Chillicothe Lady Hornets and two from the district champion Richmond Spartans named to the team.  The Lady Hornets selected were seniors Hunter Keithley and Jordan Hibner, with Dionte Marquez and Keyshaun Elliott chosen from RHS.

From the district runner-up Trenton Lady Bulldogs, Maci Moore and Lexi Whitaker were named all-district selections.  Moore scored 25 of Trenton’s 31 points in a 37-31 loss to Chillicothe in the district championship game on Saturday, February 29th at Chillicothe High School, a loss that ended the Lady Bulldog careers of seniors Whitaker, McKayla Blackburn, Allena Allen, and Kendall Crowley.

Others named to the girls team are Cassi Conard and Rylee Sensenich of Brookfield, Mackenzie Brown of Carrollton, Ava Murphy of Richmond, Sadie Kumm of Higginsville, and Adrien Martens of St. Paul Lutheran.

Completing the boys team were the high-scoring Chillicothe tandem of Westley Brandsgaard and C.J. Pfaff, Jacob Day and Cooper Cisna of Brookfield, Gavin Claud of Carrollton, Jonathan Taylor of Lexington, Mason Rumsey of Higginsville, and Vlado Vretenicic of St. Paul Lutheran.

Both the Chillicothe girls and Richmond boys, after advancing into the Class 3 playoffs, lost sectional games on Wednesday, March 4th at Moberly Area Community College.  The Lady Hornets loss came to a Macon team that eventually reached the Show-Me Showdown with a quarterfinal win this past Saturday over Maryville.
