NCMC adds Mercer’s Kost, Wyatt to women’s basketball program

The North Central Missouri College women’s basketball has signed two all-HDC Conference guards from North Mercer High School.  Lindsay Wyatt and Nicole Kost have both received numerous accolades during their prep careers and should make for strong additions to the Lady Pirate roster in the next two years.

Wyatt, a 5’7” shooting guard, has been an all-conference and all-district selection each of her first three years of high school.  Scoring over 1,000 points to date, she excels from 3-point range shooting a gaudy 46.3% from that distance last season.  Her 17.9 points per game coupled with an average of 4 rebounds and 4 assists helped her to earn St. Joseph News Press Now “Athlete of the Week” honors.

Kost, a 5’3” point guard, is a two-time all-state selection in addition to all-conference and all-district honors.  She too has poured in over 1,000 career points for North Mercer.  As a junior, she totaled 15 points per game, 5.4 assists, 4.9 steals, and shot the ball at high percentage from all areas of the court.

Coach Jenni Croy commented, “We are excited to add Nicole and Lindsay to our program.  Nicole offers the quickness we need at the point guard position.  Lindsay is an outstanding shooter.  Both girls will be able to step in and make an immediate impact.”
