The North Central Missouri College Lady Pirates steadily pulled away from John Wood Community College on Wednesday night, taking a 74-54 victory in Quincy, Illinois. The win, the sixth in a row for NCMC, pushes the 12th ranked (NJCAA D-2) team in the country to 6-1, while dropping the Trail Blazers to 2-4.
Sophomore guard Jessica Reeter had a strong scoring night for North Central, with the Chillicothe native hitting 22 points, including 5 of 10 accuracy from behind the three-point line. Reeter added seven rebounds.
Starting power forward Jacie Morris of Queen City, Missouri and Schuyler County High School had a 13 point, nine rebound night for the Lady Pirates, with sophomore guard Gladys Brown scoring 10 points to go with eight assists and seven rebounds.
Sophomore center Abbi Fountain (Novinger, MO) contributed six points off the bench while adding a team-high 11 rebounds.
John Wood was led by 14 points each from Blair Eftink and Kylee Barry. Barry added a 12 rebound effort for JWCC.
The Lady Pirates have a two-week break for the Thanksgiving Holiday, before a nine-game December begins in Iola, Kansas against Allen County Community College on Wednesday, December 4th at 6 o’clock.
