Northwest Bearcats shutout Harding, advance to D-2 national semifinals

The #1 ranked Northwest Missouri State Bearcats held the Harding Bisons to just 119 yards of offense on Saturday, part of a dominating effort that resulted in a 35-0 Bearcat win, advancing the program into their 11th all-time NCAA semifinal.

The battle of unbeaten’s was lopsided throughout, as #5 Harding ends its season with a record of 13-1.

Saturday’s national quarterfinal was the second time that the Bearcats and Bisons have met.  Northwest won by an identical 35-0 score on November 17, 2012, also in Maryville.

The Bearcats will host the Ferris State Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at Bearcat Stadium in Maryville.  The game will be broadcast on ESPN3.com.  Ferris State beat Grand Valley State in a national quarterfinal, 47-32.

The football game will be moving the MIAA basketball games at Bearcat Arena to Sunday, December 11th between Northwest Missouri State and Central Missouri.  The women’s game will start at 1:30 PM with the men’s game to start at 3:30.
