Oak Grove softball standout signs with Lady Pirates

Kaitlyn Marsh, an outstanding hitter and pitcher from Oak Grove High School, has signed her national letter of intent to play softball for North Central Missouri College beginning in the fall of 2017.  As a senior, Marsh earned 1st Team honors for the MRVC (Missouri River Valley Conference) West, District 14, and Region 4.  Additionally, 2nd Team All-State honors were awarded for her efforts on the diamond.

As a hitter, Kaitlyn totaled 24 RBI’s, 18 runs and 2 homeruns while carrying a batting average of .414 during her senior season.  While impressive, she was even more dominating against opposing batters while pitching.  Last fall, she logged 155.1 innings with a 1.17 ERA.  Her final record was 20-6 while striking out 153.  “We are very excited to get Katlyn signed.  She is an extremely good player that can help in many ways.  She is a power pitcher, great hitter and can play other areas of the field.  I think she has a chance to be an elite pitcher in our region and adds even more strength to an already strong pitching staff,” commented Coach Steve Richman of Marsh’s softball abilities.

“Kaitlyn is also a great character kid and we are so happy for her to wear the Pirate red and black,” noted Richman.  She has been a leader at Oak Grove and more of the same is expected at NCMC.
