Pirate women’s golf announces signing of two MEC standouts

Coach Nate Swann announced a couple local standouts signed their Letter of Intents this past week and will continue their golf and academic career at North Central Missouri College. Skyler Powers of Chillicothe, MO made her signing official on Wednesday (12/14/2022) and Mollee Olszowka, a Savannah native signed her LOI on Friday (12/16/2022). “I am beyond excited for Skyler and Mollee to join our women’s golf program next year. They both bring their own specific skillset which was really intriguing throughout the recruiting process. Skyler and Mollee have had stellar high school careers to back that up and I am excited that they are going to be a Pirate.”

Mollee Olszowka was a 4-time State Qualifier for the Savages, 4-time All-District honoree and All-MEC Conference while becoming the MEC individual champion her Junior year of high school. Olszowka fired an impressive score of 88 to claim the MEC individual title her Junior year at St. Joseph Country Club. This past December, Olszowka was also awarded the 2022 Bobby Potter Fox Junior Women’s Golf Award from the St. Joseph Country Club.

Skyler Powers was a two-time Class 2 State qualifier as a Hornet. She placed 46th in the 2021 Class 2 State Golf Championships and improved the following year by placing 29th in the State tournament at Silo Ridge Golf Course in Bolivar, MO. Powers was also a two-time Midland Empire All Conference Tournament by placing 3rd in Conference in 2021. Her successful senior campaign continued when she placed 3rd individually in the Sedalia Smith-Cotton Tournament with an impressive score of 95. Powers also led her Chillicothe Hornet Golf team to a 5th place finish in Class 2 District 4 by placing in 13th place in the District at Moila Golf Course in St. Joseph, MO.
