Pirates cruise to doubleheader sweep over JV competition

The North Central Missouri College Pirates opened the third week of 2022 with a convincing doubleheader sweep on Monday night at the Ketcham Community Center, with the Lady Pirates hammering the Graceland JV 110-44, with the Pirate men winning 118-70 over the Missouri Valley JV.

In the women’s game, Nora Ford had a 24 point, 11 steal game, with Angel Wiggins adding 22 points and 6 steals.  Toya Bethel scored 16, Jasmine Taylor 12 (with 10 rebounds), while Kennadie Crowe and Maci Moore each scored 10 for NCMC.  

The Lady Pirates will play at St. Louis Community College on Saturday afternoon at 1 o’clock.  The men’s game has been postponed until a later date.

The Pirate men scored 59 point in each half of their Monday night win.  Kolten Griffin had 21 points, Kam Bevel and Darius Walsh 15 each, Isaiah Ervin and Sterling DeSha 14 each, and Gerald Gittens 13 for North Central Missouri College.

The Pirates will next be in action on Tuesday, January 25th, hosting the Central Methodist JV at 7 o’clock.  The Lady Pirates have announced that the game scheduled against the Peru State JV on Thursday, January 27th has been cancelled.
