Princeton girls, Putnam County boys win titles at Trenton Early Bird Relays

Trenton High School hosted the THS Early Bird Relays at C.F. Russell Stadium, with the Princeton Lady Tigers (130 points) and Putnam County Midgets (152 points) grabbing the team championships, with junior Lauren Krohn leading PHS individually with three golds, while Colder Evans of PCHS won the shot put, discus, and javelin tosses to give a valuable 30 points to the Midgets haul.

Also on Thursday, Chillicothe High School hosted a track and field meet at Jerry Litton Memorial Stadium, welcoming Excelsior Springs, Benton, Lawson, and Lafayette to town.

The Hornets, in results for the girls and boys combined, grabbed 12 first place finishes.  For the Lady Hornets, Jolie Bonderer won the 1600 meter run, Hope Helton claimed the discus title, with Bronlyn Ward taking the 100 meter dash and Raegan May the 400 meter dash.  Chillicothe grabbed first place in the 4 by 800, 4 by 400, and 4 by 200 relays.

For the CHS boys, Demarcus Kelow claimed the shot put and discus wins, with Hayden Simmer 1st place in the 1600 meter run, Quinten Cranmer first in the 200 meter dash, and Rudy Yutzy grabbing the pole vault title.

King City hosted a track and field meet at its new facility on Thursday, with the Platte Valley girls (138 points) and Worth County boys (136 points) winning the team titles.  Worth County girls and Stanberry boys took the runner-up positions.
