The Grand River Conference will have a new face on the Putnam County sideline this fall, as the Midgets athletic department has announced the hiring of long-time high school football coach Adam Huse to the position, replacing Clyde Bondy.

Huse has spent the last five seasons at Marshall High School, with prior experience as an assistant coach under John Dabney at Milan High School for one year, and as assistant head coach, defensive coordinator, and head wrestling coach at Hillcrest High School in Springfield.

Coach Huse and his wife Aimee have three children, 15-year old Kollin, 14-year old Keelee, and 9-year old Kortland.  Adam earned a Bachelor’s degree from Missouri State University and a Master’s degree from William Woods University.  He is a native of Edina, Missouri and a graduate of Knox County High School.  He resigned the coaching position at Marshall in early November after a 2-7 season in 2021, and only nine wins total in his five years with the Owls.

The 2021 Midgets finished 3-7, falling in the opening round of the District 7 playoffs to Gallatin, with regular season wins over Tolton Catholic, Princeton, and Polo.
