The Kansas City Royals announced today that they have recalled infielder Christian Colon from Omaha (AAA).  He will be in uniform for tonight’s game against the Baltimore Orioles.  In a corresponding move, catcher Tony Cruz has been optioned to Omaha.

Colon, 27, was optioned on May 18 after batting .250 with two doubles and a pair of runs scored in 16 games with Kansas City.  He hit .266 with four doubles, a homer and eight runs scored for the Storm Chasers.

Additionally, the Royals announced that outfielder Brett Eibner will begin a rehab assignment with Omaha on Thursday.  Eibner was placed on the 15-day disabled list on June 1 with a left ankle sprain.
