Savages late run forces overtime, Savannah beats Chillicothe in Homecoming battle

The Savannah Savages outlasted the Chillicothe Hornets in a Midland Empire Conference boy’s basketball duel on Friday night, winning in overtime 39-35, behind 12 points from Kris Rudel and eight points each from Layne Anderson and Chase Spoonemore.  Chillicothe, in falling to 12-9 on the season, had 14 points from C.J. Pfaff, with Westley Brandsgaard contributing 10.

The girls game from Savannah High School, on the Savages “Winter Homecoming” Night, went to the Lady Hornets, 60-40.  In improving to 15-7, Kennedie Kieffer led CHS with 13 points.  Hunter Keithley had 10 and Jordan Hibner 9, on the strength of three first-half three-point field goals.  Savannah, dropping to 11-9, had seven points from Olivia Stites, with Rylee Benight adding six.
