Three Trenton Lady Bulldogs named Region 4 first-teamers

Three members of the District 15 champion Trenton Lady Bulldogs have been named first-team in Class 2, Region 4.  Region 4 consists of the “northwest Missouri” section of Class 2, that includes Districts 13, 14, 15, and 16.  District champions were Sherwood, Lathrop, Trenton, and Marceline, with Lathrop earning the trip to state with a 4-3 win at Trenton in the quarterfinal round on Saturday, October 15th.

The two sophomore right-handers in the quarterfinal game, Trenton’s Ainsley Tolson and Lathrop’s Brooke Huitt, are on the Region 4 first-team, along with Marceline sophomore Maycee Edgar and Sherwood senior Abby Atkin from the pitching circle.

Trenton’s Salem Croy is the all-region catcher, with the sophomore joined at her position by Knob Noster sophomore Zoey Hodson. 

The Region 4 first-team infield is highlighted by Trenton senior first baseman Whitley Richman.  Lathrop third baseman Maddy Mann and Plattsburg sophomore Kelsie Lewis are on the team, along with Knob Noster junior Jessica Sader, Putnam County senior Jordan Hollon, and Sherwood freshman Grace Parrott.

First-team outfielders are Lathrop junior Jacque Gentzell, Macon senior Macey Harrington, Lexington senior Cori Bear, Holden senior Karlie Rupard, and Sherwood senior Lynnlee Parrott.

Lexington senior Alex Miller, who threw for the Minutewomen in the 3-0 District 15 championship loss to Trenton, is the first-team utility player.

Two Trenton outfielders earned second-team status, in senior Tenna Roberts and sophomore Taylor Richman, joined in the outfield by Hamilton junior Mati Park and Mid-Buchanan junior Jill Rumpf.

The second-team pitchers are Plattsburg’s Dakota Rau, Putnam County’s Sammi Bradshaw, South Shelby’s Alex Fenton, and Knob Noster’s Macy Buzzanga.  Catchers are Holden senior Sydney Gearhart and Plattsburg’s Parker Straight.

Around the second-team All-Region infield are Marceline freshman Baylee Jobson, Milan senior Samantha DeRyke, Higginsville freshman Kiana Williams, Lexington sophomore Chandler Himbury, Putnam County senior Kennedy Childers, and North Platte junior Alley Rickel.

Sherwood High School senior Brytni Hummel is the Region 4 second-team utility selection.
