THS Lady Bulldogs advance to Class 3 sectionals in six events

The Cameron Lady Dragons were first and Chillicothe second in the Girls Class 3 district track and field meet on Saturday at Chillicothe High School.  Cameron had 148 points and Chillicothe 104 1/2.  Trenton was seventh with 59 points.

Top four finishes from Trenton High School included Ava Simpson first in the 3200 meter run and second in the 1600 meters.  Avery Clark was third in the javelin and fourth in the high jump.  Shay Westerhof was fourth in the 100 meter dash.

Trenton was fourth in the 4 by 800 relay.

Top four finishers among the host Chillicothe Lady Hornets included Kayanna Cranmer winning the 400 meter dash and finishing runner-up in the 800 meter run.

Jolie Bonderer won the 1600 meter race, with Hope Helton taking the javelin title.  The Lady Hornets 4 by 800 relay team finished first.

Other top four finishers among the Chillicothe girls were Kayla Cakranta second and Sarah Boon fourth, both in the pole vault; Emmy Dillon third in the 100 meter hurdles; a third place finish in the 4 by 400 meter relay, and a fourth place from Anna Pfaff in the long jump.

Maryville was first and Chillicothe second in the boys division in the district meet.  Cameron was 11th and Trenton a distant 12th.  The Spoofhounds accumulated 149 points, Chillicothe 120, Cameron 17 1/2, and Trenton 14.

Trenton’s Dylan Spencer was second in the discus, which was won by Chillicothe’s Demarcus Kelow, who also finished first in the shot put.  Isaiah Sprong of the Hornets was third in the discus and fourth in the javelin.

Other Chillicothe top four finishes were Cy Evans first place in the javelin, Braxten Johnson first in the 300 hurdles and second in the 110 hurdles, in addition to a fourth place finish in the long jump.  Gavin Funk was first and Charles Walker second in the pole vault, with Cain Evans third in the 1600 meters and 3200 meters, Clayton Savage fourth in the 3200, Tristan Forck third in the high jump, and a fourth place finish from the Hornets 4 by 800 relay team.

Those finishing in the top four advance to the Class 3, Section 4 meet at Odessa High School on Saturday, May 21st.
