Trenton boys, one week away from season opener, ready for Cameron Jamboree

High School Basketball

The Trenton Bulldog boys basketball team is attempting to get healthy while preparing for the quickly approaching start to the 2016-2017 season, with the Bulldogs joining Cameron, Winston, and Savannah in a four-team jamboree on Friday night at 6 o’clock before hosting East Buchanan on Tuesday, November 22nd.

Friday’s jamboree will be at Cameron High School, with the main and ‘veterans’ gymnasiums being used.  Admission will be five dollars for all ages, although kindergarten and younger will get in free.

Cameron’s Dragons will play all three of their scrimmages in the main gym, hosting Savannah at 6 o’clock, Winston at 6:30, and Trenton at 7:00.  In the veterans gym, Winston plays Trenton at 6 o’clock, followed by Savannah against Trenton at 6:30, and Savannah against Winston at 7:00.

In each scrimmage, the teams will play two quarters of six minutes each against one another, giving all four teams six quarters and 36 minutes of competition.

Like many teams in the state of Missouri, Trenton was hit by graduation, but the Bulldogs will not lose all of their starting 5 from a year ago, according to Head Coach Jeremy Austin:

Coach Austin says the Bulldogs will be known as a running, uptempo team in 2016-2017:

After the season opener against East Buchanan, Trenton will prepare for the Gallatin Tournament the week after Thanksgiving.  Seedings and the tournament bracket from Gallatin High School are expected to be released by the end of this week.
