The Trenton girls and boys basketball teams played in the Lawson Tournament last week, with the Lady Bulldogs winning the event, defeating North Platte and Penney on back-to-back nights to take the title. The Trenton boys settled for 4th place, with a hard-fought loss to Lawson in Friday night’s semifinal round followed by a Saturday afternoon 20 point loss to Richmond in the third-place game.
The Bulldog basketball teams had Tuesday’s GRC doubleheader with Polo postponed by the cold weather conditions. On Friday night, Trenton hosts Milan on Hot Country Z 101.7, before moving into the Hamilton Tournament next week.
The Trenton wrestling team is showing signs of positive growth in mid-January, with a 5th place performance on Saturday at the Plattsburg Tournament, and a split of a pair of duals in a Tuesday night triangular at Brookfield. The Bulldogs head back to Brookfield on Saturday for the annual Brookfield Tournament, but before then, will host Macon and Marceline in a Thursday night triangular at 5:30 PM.
The weekly coaches shows with Brian Upton, Jeremy Austin, and Charlie Bacon will air at 5:40 PM on Wednesday, January 17th on KTTN FM 92.3.
