The Trenton Bulldogs, with a team score of 370, finished in sixth place in Monday’s LeBlond Golf Invitational in St. Joseph, 47 strokes behind the winning score of 323 turned in by the host Golden Eagles. St. Pius X was second (341), followed by Cameron (349), Maryville (352), and Mid-Buchanan (369). Other schools in the event were Smithville, Penney (Hamilton), Benton, Lafayette, Savannah, Chillicothe, St. Joseph Christian, Lawson, East Buchanan, and Plattsburg. The Chillicothe Hornets shot a team score of 419 to finish in 12th place.
LeBlond had the top two individual scores on the day, with Hank Lierz shooting 36’s on both the front 9 and back 9 to card a 72, while Brooks Jungbluth carded a runner-up tally of 75, for the only two scores of the day sub-80.
Third place went to Tony Mike Bonadonna of St. Pius (81), with Chase Foreman of Cameron tying his teammate, Sam West, for fourth place, both a 82.
Trenton High School senior Corbyn Guile shot 84, with a 46 on the front 9 followed by a blistering back 9 score of 38, earning Guile a three-way tie for 8th place with Cole Elling of St. Pius and Trace Walters of Smithville.
Lathan Croy of Trenton finished one stroke behind Guile, with a round of 85 putting the Bulldog junior in an 11th place tie with Garrett O’Riley of LeBlond.
