Trenton JV cruises to win, TMS loses fourth quarter lead, in Monday action against Maysville

The Trenton High School junior varsity football team routed Maysville on Monday night, winning 40-0 in a game called after one half of play.  Sophomore Mark Trump had three touchdown runs for the Bulldogs, with runs of 31 and 19 yards in the first quarter, and a 5 yard plunge in the second quarter.

Luca Nichols returned an interception for a 26 yard scoring play for the Bulldogs in the opening quarter, while Jose Velazquez added a three yard touchdown run.  THS led 32-0 after one quarter of play.  Trenton was 5 for 5 in two-point conversion, with Sam Schilling going into the end zone on three of those running plays, while Trump added the other two.

Trenton Middle School, playing Maysville in their final game of the season, lost a fourth-quarter lead in falling to the Wolverines, 24-16.  

After a scoreless opening quarter, the Trenton defense got the Bulldogs on the scoreboard, as Tyler Siemer returned an interception for a 50 yard touchdown, with a two-point conversion pass from Kaden Owen to Luke Schilling giving TMS an 8-0 halftime advantage.

Maysville tied the game at 8 early in the third quarter on a 12 yard touchdown run and successful two-point conversion, with Trenton answering back with eight points of their own, as Siemer scored on a 50 yard sweep around end, with Owen adding the two-point run.

A 31 yard touchdown run and 4 yard touchdown run, both by the Wolverines in the fourth quarter, completed the scoring.  Maysville added two-point conversions successfully after each score.

Siemer had 81 yards on the ground for TMS, with Jarek Habelitz adding 60 rushing yards.  Caleb Johnson and Trevor Murphy led the Bulldog defense with seven tackles each.
