High School Basketball
Playing for the first time in two weeks, the Trenton Lady Bulldogs JV shook off some rust against Princeton on Thursday. Trenton jumped out to a 9-3 lead after one and extended the lead to 20-8 at the half. Lexi Whitaker ended the half on a 5-0 run, first with a layup with 5 seconds left and then a steal with 1 second, turned and heaved in a three from about 30 feet. Trenton sealed the game with a 15-2 in the third quarter. Lexi Whitaker led the way with 11 points, Haley Kidd and McKayla Blackburn each had 10, as THS won 43-16.  The JV is now 4-0.
The THS JV boys fell to the Princeton Tigers 49-38.  Both teams came out hot in the first quarter, as Princeton took a slim 18-17 lead into the second quarter. They would however stretch the lead out to double digits in the second quarter taking a 33-23 lead into the half and never looked back. Trenton got down by as many as 18 before making a strong push in the fourth quarter to get to the final score of 49-38.
“I was proud of how well the boys took what we’ve been working on in practice and put it on the floor,” said JV Coach Kameron Cool. “We took a big stride in the right direction tonight.”

THS was paced by Dalton Burchett and Brycin Loyd who scored eight points each. Gavin Roeder had six.
