Seven all-stars have been selected from the Chillicothe Swarm, ready to represent the second-year franchise in Saturday night’s Midwest Football Alliance (MFA) All-Star Game in Des Moines, Iowa.  Among those recognized from Chillicothe are running back and former Trenton Bulldog Dillon Triplet, who provided, along with Kansas City native DeMarco Wright, a quality one-two punch out of the Swarm backfield in 2018.  Wright will join Triplet on the All-Star team, with Triplet saying about his first season with the Swarm, “There are a lot of good football players that come from this part of Missouri.  The Swarm gives us an opportunity to keep playing and it can be like putting an area all-star team together!”

Former Chillicothe Hornet, linebacker Hayden Major, will be an All-Star after a season that saw him amass 73 tackles, good for third in the MFA stat sheet, in addition to five interceptions.  At 37 years of age, defensive end David Smith will head to Des Moines this weekend to participate in the game.  Smith will retire after Saturday night’s game and join the Swarm coaching staff for the 2019 season.

Other Swarm players in the All-Star Game will be Kansas City native and utility veteran, Albert Fitts, and second-year wide receiver Tanner Johnson, who played a variety of roles for the Chillicothe offense in 2018, including half of the second at quarterback and the other half at wide receiver.  Chillicothe’s group in Des Moines will also include the youngest of the “Smith Brothers”, in linebacker Michael Smith.

The Swarm will hold football tryouts for the 2019 season on October 6th, with cheer and dance tryouts to be held on October 13th.  If you are interested in becoming a member of the Swarm organization, visit Chillicothe Swarm on Facebook, www.chillicotheswarmfootball.com, or e-mail chillicotheswarm@gmail.com.
