The Grand River Conference’s western division champions, the Worth County Tigers, are the top ranked team in the state in eight-man football.  Worth County earned the top spot in this week’s media poll after a 9-0 regular season.  North Shelby’s 9-0 record has the Raiders sitting in the runner-up position, with unbeaten Drexel ranked third, King City fourth, and East Atchison, after an upset loss at Platte Valley, sitting fifth.

Worth County will be the #1 seed in District 4, with North Shelby top-seeded in District 2, and Drexel earning the top position in District 1.  The other #1 seed in districts went to 8th ranked Bishop LeBlond.

Archie is ranked sixth, followed by Stanberry.  Platte Valley’s program best win over East Atchison gives the Jefferson-South Nodaway cooperative the 9th position, with Orrick and South Holt tied for 10th.

North Andrew, Knox County, and Rock Port are the programs receiving votes.
