Milan native Cady Pauley announces transfer from Virginia to Missouri State

Missouri State women’s basketball head coach Beth Cunningham announced the signing of transfer Cady Pauley, who has two years of eligibility remaining.

Originally from Milan, Missouri, Pauley spent the last two seasons at the University of Virginia under former Missouri State head coach Amaka Agugua-Hamilton. Interestingly, she was initially part of the Lady Bears’ 2022 signing class before transferring to UVA.

During her sophomore year at UVA, Pauley played in 20 games, averaging 2.9 points per game while shooting 31 percent from the field. In her freshman season, she appeared in 24 games, averaging 3.5 points and 1.1 rebounds per game, and also made 22 three-point field goals.

Before her college career, Pauley attended Milan High School, where she excelled in basketball, softball, and track & field. She scored an impressive 3,074 career points, ranking eighth all-time in Missouri girl’s basketball history. Pauley was recognized as a four-time unanimous All-Conference selection, a four-time first-team All-District honoree, and a two-time Class 3A All-State selection. Additionally, she was nominated for the McDonald’s All-America team. In her senior year, she averaged 33.0 points and 9.7 rebounds per game and also found success in track & field, winning a state championship in shot put.

Coach Cunningham expressed excitement about Pauley joining the Lady Bear family, highlighting her scoring ability, shooting skills, competitive nature, high basketball IQ, and versatility on both ends of the court.
