NCMC athletes earn academic honors

NCMC

North Central Missouri College is honoring its student-athletes that excelled in representing the Pirates on the athletic fields, courts, and links, in addition to the classroom, in the 2016-2017 academic year.  Five were named to the “President’s List”, representing a perfect 4.0 GPA (grade point average), with 15 on the “Dean’s List”, for a GPA of at least 3.50 on the 4 point scale.

Three players on the Lady Pirates softball team made the President’s List, in Rachael Balke, Jaclyn Weydert, and Kelly Warford.  Warford, along with fellow sophomore McKinley Hurley, did “double duty” this season, playing on both the Lady Pirates softball and basketball teams.  Two players from Jeremy Esry’s men’s basketball team made the President’s list, in sophomore Demetrius Houston and freshman and Gallatin native Harris Cameron.

Four baseball players made the Dean’s List, in Enrique Madera, Brendly Martina, Bo McSpadden, and Wyatt Thomas.  From the softball team, named to the Dean’s List are Georgia Gibler, Allison Hilsabeck, Aubrey Nelson, Breann O’Riley, and Kayla Stuart.  From the Pirates basketball team, earning the Dean’s List recognition are Brandon Burden, M.J. Johnson, and Ryan Ward, while from Jenni Croy’s Lady Pirate basketball program, Sarah Lamp, Jami Nickerson, and Adriana Segar are on the Dean’s List.
