Jasper van der Zon, a golfing talent from the Netherlands, has committed to join the North Central Missouri Pirates in the Spring 2018 semester.  A well-rounded athlete, van der Zon competed as a junior in both soccer and golf, ultimately choosing to pursue the latter.  He is currently playing at Noordwijkse Golf Club, off a 3.5 handicap.  “Jasper looks to be a kid that has the ability to reach his goals of playing professionally.  He’s competed very well in his international competitions and I feel he’ll make an immediate impact on our roster,” commented Coach Sager.

“Coming off of several quality outings in the Fall, it was obvious that we needed a boost to make a run at the National Tournament.  We don’t need a lot, just a couple strokes from each of our guys per round.  Jasper has the ability to post very low numbers and that will push everyone on our team to get better.”

Jasper will join a strong Pirates roster that looks to build on a successful Fall campaign.  “It’s a long season and we needed to add some depth.  Guys miss for various reasons and it creates big voids, with this addition we’re deep and we’re solid.  We’ll also be getting Cody (Glenn) back from his time away with basketball and we know he has the game to turn heads.  We’re ready to surprise people, our goal is the National Tournament in May” – Coach Sager.
