The Kansas City Royals have announced that the American League franchise will celebrate its 50th season throughout the 2018 season.

“We’re proud to celebrate the 50th season of the Kansas City Royals next year,” said Kevin Uhlich, Senior Vice President of Business Operations.  “This organization has had many great individuals and moments throughout its history, and we have great plans to revisit and honor many of those.  We’re fortunate to be part of such a great community for 50 years, and we’re thrilled to celebrate throughout the 2018 season.”

The season-long celebration will include multiple celebratory events, 50th season special premium giveaway items and appearances by Royals alumni.  Special 50th themed weekends will take place each month commemorating memorable players and moments from the Club’s colorful history.  Additional details will be announced during the off-season as plans are confirmed.

To commemorate this special season, the club has unveiled a specially-designed logo which will be featured as a sleeve patch on players’ jerseys and also on the side of all caps in 2018.  The mark will also appear in Royals advertising and around Kauffman Stadium and on MLB-licensed merchandise.

As part of the 50th season celebration, Royals fans will be invited to vote for their favorite Royals players for the “Kansas City Royals 50th Celebration All-Time Team.”  Details of the voting, along with additional information about the 50th season, will be made available soon at royals.com/50.
