THS tennis keeps momentum with Monday win over Chariton

The Trenton Bulldogs defeated Chariton (IA) High School in boys tennis action on Monday afternoon, claiming an 8-1 victory to improve to 6-1 on the spring season.

None of the matches were decided by an 8-love sweep, with the most dominant performance by Trenton coming in the #3 singles match, with Maverick Sole defeating Blane Wallace 8-1.  The Bulldogs took 8-2 victories from Tucker Otto (#4 singles over Gage Hart), and the #2 doubles team of Otto and Sole, defeating Zach Poling and Hart.

The Trenton #1 doubles team of Trent Villacampa and Bradyn Sager downed Spencer Smith and Wallace 8-3, with Bradyn Sager winning his #2 singles match by an 8-4 final over Poling.

In the #3 doubles match, Trenton’s Victor Markell and Isaac Dixon defeated Kade Williams and Dominigue Colburn 8-5.  Garrison Otto, in the #6 singles match, took an 8-6 win over Colburn for the Bulldogs.

Chariton’s only victory on the night came in the #5 singles match, with Kade Williams doubling up Victor Markell 8-4.

In junior varsity competition, Jake Horton took a 4-love win and Garrison Otto a 4-2 win for THS.  In JV doubles, Seth Doolittle and Jake Horton took an 8-6 setback, with Doolittle teaming with Isaac Dixon for a 6-love sweep.
