The Trenton boxers traveled to Turner Boxing Academy in Kansas City, Kansas on Saturday, with 6 boxers all doing well.  At 115 pounds, Colton Kenyon came out and dominated all 3 rounds, in a revenge match with Ivan Ogaz, with Kenyon, this time around, victorious by three round decision.

At 130 pounds, Landon May came out and threw explosive non-stop action for two rounds before the referee stopped the fight, as May went onto win his second belt.

At 156 pounds, Kristopher Taylor followed suit, throwing lefts and fights against more experienced opponent in Jimmy Yock. Taylor dominated three rounds and won by unanimous decision.  Also at 156, Owen Brown ran into a tough opponent in Jesus Ruiz.  Brown lost in the second round when the referee stopped the contest.

Making his debut was 15 year-old Brycen Wilson, boxing in the 230 pound weight against at heavier foe in Auden Lee.  With combination of size and experience, Lee went on to win the contest by referee stoppage.

On Sunday morning, the team re-gathered, and headed to Iowa City, Iowa for the Iowa State Championships.  Owen Brown would go unopposed as his opponent failed to show in their 156 pound match.  Colton Kenyon came out slugging and won a 3 round decision and the Iowa Championship.  Fifteen-year old Blaine Dunkin dueled with Michael Macklin and constantly trapped him on the ropes while measuring the art retreating from the hard-charging opponent, emerging with the victory.

Kristopher Taylor was again matched with someone older and more experienced, came out aiming to win the title.  In the first round Taylor caught a good body shot from his opponent, Juan Garcia, and got an 8 count. Taylor regrouped and from that point on came throwing with straight shots that went unanswered and picked himself up an Iowa State Championship as well.

Landon May had a little tougher day as he was matched with a much taller opponent in Henry Deese. May just never could seem to figure out the range and went on to lose a three-round decision.
