Trenton volleyball shows continued improvement, falling in three sets at Lathrop

Over the formative years of the Trenton High School volleyball program, the Lady Bulldogs have found some success in the win column, but generally against building programs the likes of Hamilton and Brookfield, or a struggling program like Hogan Prep.  While not a road win on Tuesday night, a underclassmen dominated Lady Bulldog team stretched the KCI Conference’s Lathrop Mules to a third set, before falling 16-25, 25-16, 16-25.

In recent weeks, Trenton has shown the consistent ability to take “good” teams into a third set, with THS now in the role of trying to figure out how to capitalize in those third-set opportunities.

In the Tuesday night match at the Lathrop High School gymnasium, Karli Provorse led Trenton with seven kills, Saedee Jackson had for digs, Laura Carlson three kills, Melea Farmer three digs, Grace Holcomb three digs and three assists, while Gilcy Ando had five digs and three aces.

Trenton Middle School volleyball hosted Hamilton’s Lady Hornets on Tuesday night, with HMS taking the “B” game 25-22, 25-11.  Emily Feeney and Maci Lynch both had two aces.  The Trenton “A” team emerged victorious, rolling to a 25-4, 25-12 victory.  Olivia Roberts paced Trenton with nine aces with Savannah Martin contributing three kills.
