Alabama prep cornerback chooses KU over three SEC schools and FSU

Kameron Grays, a three-star (Rivals) cornerback out of Blount High School in Eight Mile, Alabama, has given a verbal commitment to Coach Les Miles and the University of Kansas football program, passing on earlier scholarship offers from Missouri, Auburn, and Tennessee from the Southeastern Conference and the ACC’s Florida State Seminoles.

The addition of Grays continues an impressive surge by Miles as he attempts to turn around a Jayhawks program mired in or near the basement of the Big 12 Conference for the last decade.  On a post on Twitter from Wednesday afternoon, Grays exclaimed, “I’m excited to say I’ve committed to the University of Kansas!”

He is the second Kansas commit from the state of Alabama for 2021, joining offensive lineman Edgar Amaya.  Of 16 verbal commitments for Kansas at this time, Rivals has all but two graded as three-stars.  Grays is rated by the service as the #34 overall prospect from the state of Alabama in 2021.
