Area softball players achieve all-state academic status

High School Softball

The Missouri Fastpitch Coaches Association has announced the Academic All-State team for the 2016 season.  In the immediate area, the Princeton Lady Tigers placed fifth in the state for Class 1, racking up a cumulative GPA of 3.78.  The Trenton Lady Bulldogs, with a GPA of 3.755, are 10th in the state for Class 2.

Nine Lady Tigers earned individual Academic All-State honors.  In order to be recognized, student-athletes must have a GPA between 3.5 and 4, start at least 70 percent of their team’s varsity games, and be either in the top 25 percent of their class or have an ATC score of 24 or above.

Princeton players recognized were Haley Johnson, Kylei Lamp, Vivian Allen, Jayci Lewis, Kaycee Kile, Megan Hydorn, Lauren Cox, Payton Goodin, and Kylie Willett.

Trenton players named Academic All-State were seniors Jaylen Neff, Whitley Richman, Mason Hooyman, Shayla Woodside, and Tenna Roberts; junior Jayden Roeder; and sophomores Taylor Richman and Ainsley Tolson.

Milan High School’s Lady Wildcats had a team GPA of 3.4, with seniors Kenna Michael and Breanna Sawyer; junior Shelby May; and sophomore Katie Banner named to the Academic All-State team.

Polo High School provided KTTN Sports with their list of honorees, as seniors Jennifer Farmer, Averie Heil, and Billie Thompson joined junior Megan Latimer and sophomore Taylor Wagner as honorees for a Lady Panther team with a GPA of 3.44.

Braymer softball players for being selected 2016/2017 Academic All-State by MHSFCA are Seniors Cheyenne Hall and Gabby Saul, Juniors Maggie Phillips and Kelsey Stone, and Sophomore Tori Smith.  The Lady Bobcats boasted a team-GPA of 3.6.

The Grundy R-5 Lady Panthers had a team GPA of 3.74, the 8th best in the state in Class 1.  Named individually Academic All-State were Emma Baxter, Zoe Littleton, and Matana Munday.

The Chillicothe Lady Hornets, at 3.83, had the second-highest GPA in Class 3, with Kaylee Rucker, Madison Graham, Harlie Jones, Molly Jones, McKenna Poling, Libby Adkins, and Laney Gason recognized individually.

Brookfield had a GPA of 3.489, with Khaylee Dixon, Alex Duncan, Jacey Vestal, and Sydney Wilbeck named Academic All-State.
