Prosecutors have dropped the misdemeanor assault charge against Las Vegas Raiders’ wide receiver Davante Adams, which was filed last October after he shoved a photographer to the ground following a game in Kansas City. The case was dismissed on June 5 in Kansas City municipal court.

According to police in Kansas City, Missouri, Adams pushed Ryan Zebley to the ground while running off the field after the Raiders’ loss to the Chiefs on October 10. The police described it as an intentional act that caused whiplash, a headache, and a possible minor concussion for Zebley.

Adams apologized for the incident in his postgame comments to the media and on Twitter, stating that it was a result of frustration mixed with Zebley running in front of him. However, Zebley filed a lawsuit against Adams, the Raiders, and the Chiefs in May, claiming that he was targeted online and feared for his safety after the incident.

The lawsuit, filed in Jackson County Circuit Court, is still ongoing, according to the Kansas City Star. The dismissal of the criminal charge does not affect the civil lawsuit.
