Bearcats add high-scoring transfer guard from Minnesota State

Northwest Missouri State University has announced the transfer of Joey Witthus from Minnesota State University (Mankato, MN) to the Bearcats 2017-2018 roster.  Witthus will be eligible to play immediately and have two years of eligibility with the defending men’s basketball national champions.

With MSU-Mankato, Witthus, a product of Chanhassen, Minnesota, averaged 13.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game as a sophomore.  Over the past two seasons, the 6’6″ Witthus started all 61 games he had appeared in for the Mavericks.

In the Northern Sun Conference, Witthus earned second-team honors, and was named to the NSIC All-Academic Team.
