Bearcats tied with Fort Hays at #5 in first D-2 poll of the season

The Tigers of Fort Hays State and the Bearcats of Northwest Missouri State, two programs expected to battle the top of the MIAA in the 2018 football season, are tied at #5 in the first AFCA Division Two poll of the college season.

The defending national champions from Texas A&M-Commerce are top-ranked, followed by West Florida, Minnesota State, and Indiana (PA).

Fort Hays will face a top-25 matchup in the Tigers MIAA opener on Thursday, August 30th, playing host to #18 Central Missouri.  Other top-25 games, nationwide, on the same night, will be #2 West Florida hosting #22 Carson-Newman (TN), #4 Indiana (PA) at #15 Ashland (OH), and #10 Grand Valley State (MI) hosting #13 Indianapolis (IN).

Among other MIAA schools, Pittsburg State has 21 votes, Missouri Western 14, Emporia State 11, and Washburn one vote.
