Bishop LeBlond beats sloppy Bulldog squad in Saturday test at Grimes

The Bishop LeBlond Golden Eagles received the benefit of baserunners from eight Trenton errors and nine walks from the Bulldog pitching staff, rallying from an early 1-0 deficit for a 7-1 victory at Burleigh Grimes Field.

Trenton opened the scoring in the bottom of the first, with an RBI base hit from Elijah Miller sending Mason Rongey home.  Meanwhile, Brayden Wiggins kept LeBlond off the scoreboard for three innings, with the lead remaining 1-0 for THS.

In the fourth inning, the Eagles scored three times off Wiggins, but all the runs were unearned.  Miller pitched the next 2 1/3 innings, walking six batters and allowing four runs, two of those unearned.  

LeBlond’s starting pitcher, Gideon, was stout, allowing only four hits.  The first inning run was unearned, with no walks allowed and seven strikeouts.  Trenton had hits from Miller, Sam Gibson, Wiggins, and Taylor.  All were singles.
